As has already been said, If The "original ecu" was fitted to the Replacement engine it should run without a problem. If the engines own ecu was fitted then it will need matching to the immobiliser.

You will not be able to match engine ECU to Immob if security code in engine ECU is different to the security code in Immob ECU. So my advice would be to get the original ECU off the old engine sharpish. Mike
