Ltd company or sole trader?? Posted by Colin Bunn on October 17, 2005, 11:53 pm I have been a sole trader for a long time now,But a lot of the local garage owners seem to be going LTD all of a sudden.Does any one have any ideas why this might be.What are the advantages of being ltd if any. chers colin  Post a Response ( * ) Required

Hi Colin, This is all about reducing your Tax liability, I am sure others will have more imformation, this all started about 18 months to 2 years ago with the way Gordon Brown was trying to ease business tax burdens and it made going LTD very attractive, you need to discuss in depth with your accountant, Tony Bickers  Post a Response ( * ) Required

Thanks for the reply Tony.Being a limited company also seems to have more credibility than trading as a sole trader.I will ask my accountant about the details.
