gee, John you have all the same questions as I do. I've done the treatment took the last shot in June this year, but it didn't work. I will probably try the peg and ribavirin in a couple of months. The side affects from the interferon were not so bad, but with the ribavirin the 3 day headaches were terrible, and I had a skin rash, and was starting to get brain fog. However it is different for everyone I think. Does anyone sell life insurance? I had the same question, and I was told to wait until after the treatment and see how long I had I guess. Either that or the premiums would be outrageous. So i guess I'll try one of the $1.oo for the first 6 months (Globe Life), $10,000 policy. I've talked to many, many people who are not using any treatment and just live a healthy life style. I'm not sure what to expect, but I don't want to sit around and not try everything out there. It's a personal choice.
My liver was not in very good shape when diagnosed, so I couldn't expect much from treatment. I think the most important thing any of us can do is stay completely away from alcohol.
