Hello. I found out I have HepC in January of this year. I've been tested, had ultrasound, blood tests, etc.; all Normal. Low ALT 37 and AST 35. I am a 1B w/viral load of 5.4 million. I am scheduled for a biopsy on Wednesday, 10/27. I am nervous to say the least, but not really of the biopsy itself, but of the results and then whether to do treatment. When would you all say treatment is best or when did you do it? If my biopsy comes back 0-2, would you do treatment? Or not? Would you wait, PLUS I am a 1b which tx clears only 50% of the time. Also, one other question; at the medical facility that I am going to there is going to be a Medical Study/Trial to try and determine which of the two tx that are available now (Pegasys/PegIntron combinations)give better results. I would be closely monitored for 12 weeks (going in to do labs and check-ups once a week) and then the remaining 36 weeks will be free of charge also. Would any of you do this? I would like some opinions. Sorry this is so long, but I have so many unanswered questions and am so confused as to whether to do treatment or not. Also I am 48 yrs. old and think I contracted this from a blood transfusion in 1976. I have no symptons that I know of. Thank You SOOOO much for any info you can give and GOD BLESS!
