Hi Prospect
its pretty obvious who I am as there was only one guy called Dave involved in the Slugain debacle so why the Prospect? I am an editor of a journal and the fact that what made it into print did so was wrong. Some of the comments were very out of order in particular the reference to an indivduals medical condition.Do you condone this behaviour?
The sheer volume of the Chairmans contribution would under normal circumstances be seen as page filling but at this time and given the content of his contribution I was astonished. Do you feel it was wise to put these opinions into print, where no right of reply was offered to those he poured scorn upon? As the Editor put it "In the interest of fairness" the Chairman was granted right of reply to letters of complaint against him, why no similar service to those out of favour with the Chairman? The Newsletter was to say the best lacking in balance and someone has to carry the can for that if not the Editor who?
With regard to the area meetings I await with interest the next Eastern Area meeting but I cannot find any reference to it in the Newsletter or website, although I was advised it would be in October. I look forward to attending the AGM as it will give me the opportunity to etsablish for myself what is going on.
I can feel the vibe that you are of the opinion that I am an armchair warrior never to be found with a hammer in his hand in a bothy? So often anyone out of step with the MBA have that levelled at them. Well I am pretty active on non MBA projects which have the added benefit of involving only bothy work, no backstabbing or political games so beloved of the MBA. But I will continue to pay my annual dues until the point I feel that the MBA is beyond redemption, that may not be too far away!
