Mr Houghton, I agree with the fact that we must reduce the burning of fossil fuels and yes, hydro power is a good way to achieve this but is a national scenic area the place to do this? There are very few places in Scotland as naturally beautiful as the West coast of Scotland. Highland Light and Power have indeed said that they will reduce visual impact by burying cables but how do they propose doing this without destroying the land and leaving a visual scar on the landscape, native plants and animals will be destroyed or evicted by the digging and no doubt the heavy machinery the company will bring in to dig up the land. The prinicipal behind the scheme is admirable but the choice of site is not.
With regards to your comment concerning my coursework, I can assure you I will not fail for expressing an opinion we do not live in a dictatorship; we are all entitled to an opinion!
