I have sensed Anna a few times, smelled the lavender perfume which identified the spirit as Anna. I heard her walking down the hallway one night. Suddenly I heard very quick, dainty heeled footsteps walk past me and also heard the swishing of skirts as the footsteps passed, even a breeze all at the same time. The sounds continued down the hall towards the stairs, and into the Dining Room where the floor even creaked. At this time, the hallway was carpeted so I shouldn't have heard these footsteps, it was like they were on a wood floor. A co-worker saw Anna walk through the Parlor one night and I was standing right in the Parlor doorway, I was talking to her as she walked up to me and saw through the door the tiny woman in a long dress walk from the fireplace to the sofa on the other side of the room. I missed the whole thing, though I was standing right there. I have heard a woman murmuring in my right ear as I walked from the hallway into the General Store one night. These all took place late at night, when there were only two people in the house. And both of them accounted for. I have seen a man walk through the Courtroom, but saw him in my peripheral vision, so I couldn't tell you any specifics on him, it was very fast. I was alone in the House and the shades were pulled in that room, so no shadows from the street possible. I saw a man walk quickly from the General Store into the Dining Room at 11am on a Monday morning. He had on period clothing, I think he was Thomas Whaley, moved too quickly and made no sound. For a moment I thought he was the other Docent, then realized he was in the shop next door. I have seen a woman's skirt move from the upstairs hallway through the partition into the Master Bedroom, like she walked out of the dressing room along with me and got out of my way. It was a black skirt with a short train on it, but the top of her wasn't there. This is actually seen quite a bit in the House. She moves fast up there, I think it is Violet. I think Violet followed me around quite a bit, I don't think Anna liked me around so much, I think she might have felt I was taking over her turf. I think she's very possessive about her house. Also she's nice, but not real approachable in a sense. She does like babies, the newer the better. Lots of times you will smell lavender when there's a small baby in the house. I always told the spirits there that I never wanted to see them. I didn't mind them being around me, but I did NOT want to see a full form standing there staring at me. Moving away from me was okay. I think they respected this and accomodated me. However, just before my last time in the House, at night, while closing up, I came down the stairs and saw Thomas Whaley standing right next to the plexiglass inside the downstairs Guest Bedroom, staring at me. It was very close to the glass, he was pale, but the room was dark so I didn't see his clothes well, really only got a good look at his face, the only thing I could focus on. He was about 35 years old, with a mustache. He looked very stern, actually rather angry. It lasted only moments as I turned the corner and didn't dawdle there to stare. It was just the thing I never wanted to see. I figured he was mad at me for some reason. In hindsight, I strongly feel he knew my time there had come to an end (before I did) and was just saying goodbye. He knew I wouldn't be back. He gets around and knows everything that goes on there. They all know me from long ago, they remember me from childhood and I took a very protective role over their home. I don't come around anymore so I hope the Whaleys don't think I just ran off and forgot about them. I really miss them and all their odd little ways of communicating with us! --Previous Message--
