It's always refreshing to see someone pop in here with questions about the tour and historic side of the Whaley House. As you can imagine, that is rare, as most here are drawn here because of the supernatural aspect of the Whaley House! Now to answer your questions (as best as I can, as I am not an employee of SOHO, nor is anyone on this forum!) 1. You can definitely take your time and walk around. It is, however, a pretty small house (though it is two stories). All the rooms (like bedrooms, etc) upstairs are blocked off with transparent borders; and some of the rooms downstairs are blocked off also. But you can see everything. 2. From my experience, and what I have heard, docents are usually more than happy to discuss historical aspects of the house with those who are interested. 3. There are a number of items on displaye (behind a glass counter - well, last time I was there!) found in the Court Room side of the Whaley House. There's a number of pictures also hanging on the walls and what not, some of the Whaley's themselves. (Though I never thought to check if they're "legit paintings" or copies of originals). Hope that helps! And if anything, ye can always call the folks at the Whaley House. And I am sure they'd be willing to clarify anything I wasn't able to. --Previous Message--
