However, if unless you're lugging an enormous camera (or camcorder), it shouldn't be that big of an ordeal to simply carry it and shoot without the use of a tripod.
I can understand your opinion. Make no mistake. However, you would probably be in the minority when it comes to that kind of consideration (about folding up when people are in the house). And again, since I don't have contact with the Whaley House anymore (I just admin this site and forum), who knows why they implimented the rule. May have been some kind of fire hazard for all I know, being a muesum and all - about ensuring there's always enough room in the hallways, clear exits, etc etc.
