Hey what do you mean about Thomas Whaleys personality? It sounds like you mean he wasn't very nice. I always just thought of him as a ghost.

: I must admit that being Irish, I have to
: object to what I just read...a person
: dressed up as a drunken Irish maid? WOW.
: Another place where the drunk Irish
: sterotype is being promoted. Are you sure
: she was supposed to be 'drunk'? Or was she
: just being "Irish" and some nitwit
: ASSUMED she was 'drunken'?
:
: Then again, considering what I have heard
: some of the docents at the Whaley House say
: about the personality of Thomas Whaley, if I
: was his maid, I would probably drink on the
: sly...Irish or not. Just to escape my crappy
: life. Working for the Whaleys probably
: sucked. Think about it. I read where their
: Native American servant girl kept running
: away.
:
: With a tough taskmaster like Mr.Whaley it
: was probably hard for them to keep good
: help. Maybe thats why they're haunting their
: house. They're just waiting for someone to
: clean it. (has anyone ever noticed how dirty
: it is in there?)

: Hi Aviarra,
:
: I don't mean to be a stick in the mud, but
: yeah, there is a sign over in the museum
: shop were you get admissions. Even though
: it is a haunted house, it is still a museum.
: Even though it's a tourist attraction, it's
: NOT an amusement park. I've seen them ask
: people to leave who were misbehaving inside
: and even outside of the Whaley House. I
: don't think workers at an art museum would
: let people run around trying to touch things
: or go in areas not allowed. And that's an
: art museum. The Whaley House has historical
: signifigance. Why would people treat it
: with less reverence? That's a shame.
: Misbehaving in the Whaley House only
: distracts people from learning and having a
: good time. If I were in there as a guest
: and some idiot was doing something they're
: not suppose to, yeah, I'd be real annoyed.
: The biggest misconception is that people
: going to the Whaley House are "paying
: admission to see ghosts". From talking
: with the docents there, you're paying for
: the CHANCE of having a possible encounter.
: The person at admissions and the docents
: inside told me there's no guarantee. . .but
: that they also couldn't guarantee nothing
: would happen either. Some people get lucky,
: and some people might have to come back
: another time. That's the fun of it, you'll
: never know what you'll get with each visit.
:
: The docents there educate and entertain. If
: guests enjoy themselves, most likely they'll
: learn more. As for that Britney Spears
: docent, I don't know, maybe they have their
: own way of presentation. I remember one
: Ghost & Gravestone tour I took, there
: was a woman who dressed up as a drunken
: Irish maid. It may have been historically
: incorrect, but it was funny. . .and I learn
: a lot.
