The other night, Nov. 3rd, my boyfriend and I and his daughter, her friend and my 7 year old son visited the Whaley house. The youngsters all witnessed several apparitions. My boyfriend and I saw and heard a chair in the rear corner of the theater move, knocking on the floor three times as it shook. I also heard a beautiful song being loudly hummed by a woman - it sounded ghostly at times. I thought it was a piped in effect and was very impressed. When I went downstairs (I had been alone upstairs hoping to see an apparition)I could still hear it though it was getting fainter. The docent at the door also heard it and when she saw me and heard me talk, she did a double take. She thought that I had been the one humming and just then realized it wasn't me. She was clearly spooked. We asked the only other patrons in there who had been in the courtroom if they were humming and they said no, they hadn't even heard it. I wasn't surprised because it was obvious to me at the time of listening to it that it couldn't have been coming from anyone in the building. It sounded piped in, as it was surrounding me and very loud. My boyfriend's daughter and her friend, as well as my son also heard it - they were standing in front of the bedroom at the bottom of the stairs. My boyfriend didn't notice it, as he was busy talking to the docent near the front door. Has anyone else ever heard this?
