Posted by Sabrina I knew about this event back in late October and even put in for the day off. Unfortuantely, I read the new schedule at work and saw I'm 11 to 8 that day! Arrrgh! I'm not going to bother to ask to switch with someone because I tried that for November 6 (my sister's birthday that I also requested off) and no one could help me. On Halloween, I told William at the Whaley House that I'd try to go, but now I can't. Sabrina

Hi, everyone,
I'm not sure if any of you were aware of this, but this upcoming Sunday, or November 13, the Cabrillo National Monument will have a celebration for the first lighting of the Old Point Loma Lighthouse. 
If anyone goes, could you post your thoughts and comments here? I'd like to know how it went. I'm quite bummed that I'll miss it. They're supposed to open the tower to the public!
