Hi Julia, so sorry you are having to deal with this again. I too had a lumpectomy 1st time and in less than 2 yrs(from 1 diagnoses to the next) I had it again. I went for the mastectomy(double) because my Onc surgeon said that what she strongly recommended. The oncologist also recommended the double mastectomy. I made the right decision for me and like the rest of the girls said, you need to feel comfortable with what You want.
The problem I had was deciding on doing the reconstruction. I asked the oncologist surgeon's nurse to recommend someone else that had been through this that I could talk to before I had anything. And that helped me to make up my mind about the reconstruction.
