Hi Judy,
I have to agree with all the others: A diagnosis of cancer regardless of treatment modality is earth-shattering for most people. Our lives are changed forever and so are we. Your body, mind, heart, and soul need time to process what's happened. At the end of this month, I will be one year out of treatment, and I am STILL very cautious about the kinds of social invitations I accept because I don't always have the energy to call up to be Mary Sunshine all day (unless I'm going somewhere w/ a group of survivors because they do ALWAYS understand this). So, please treat yourself as you would your closest family member or friend and take time off if you need to. And if you don't think your PCP will understand this, you could bring Dr. Love's breast book with you. This is the bible of breast cancer, and she does discuss issues during post-treatment. Also, you could ask your med onc or rads onc. for a note stating that you need to be off work. They should certainly get it. Please let us know how you make out with this.
Hugs & prayers,
Mary
