Friday I was to have my last chemo treatment, 6th out of 6 txs. I have been showing anemia at my last 2 treatments, but not low enough to interfer with treatment. However, Friday my counts were so low they would not give me chemo. I was soooooo upset about that. I live my life on a schedule - one I'm really looking forward to returning to work the end of July. (Just goes to show you how much control I have with my life's schedule
. This just seems to have set things back a week. (I have 2 more surgeries before I return to work.) So instead of chemo, I had to go to the hospital for 2 units of packed red blood cells. On the up side, the low counts clearly explained why I didn't bounce back with the 5th round of chemo; my fatigued muscles, weakness, lethargy, and extreme shortness of breath. I DO feel a bit better today and hope that continues this week so that this coming Friday I CAN have that last chemo I'm so looking forward to!
