Hi Suzy,
I had my hair bleached for the first time almost a year to the day after I lost it. My onc told me I could color it as soon as it grew in. Color is even better because you're adding color, not stripping the hair. I like gray hair on some people but not on myself. I felt like a big mouse was sitting on my head (though my mom had had gray hair when she was alive and she looked beautiful.) Anyway, I remember my then hairdresser being nervous about using bleach and he asked me, "What color would you be if you were not blonde?" I thought about it a minute and said, "Hmmm. Let's see. If I were not blonde, I'd be lying around waiting for death to whisk me away! So bleach it already!" He did and it was fine.
