Memorial Sloan Ketterling which is the leader along with Dana Faber the Top Cancer Hospitals & Doctors all have done studies and come to the same conclusion that it can lessen the effectiveness of chemo, they advise their patients NOT to take a High dosages of Vit C while on chemo.
Why take the risk of putting your body through chemo and having Vitamin C making it less effective? not a risk I would take or advise anyone, discontinue it for 3 months big deal, In your multi vitamin is fine, but NOT in high doses while on chemo.
Im sure it has benfits AFTER chemotherapy but I dont beleive from ANY study it has any place while on chemo, too risky.
As always speak with your Onco, my Onco explained this too me as well shes MSK. I think its frigtening when people on this board suggest things herbs vitamins to start while on chemo and people start it without consulting their doc, some are okay but not all. Lastly, none of us are doctors.
Take good care
