I can't blame you Kelly for letting your body heal for awhile. I had my surgery March 8th and waited until after chemo to start getting the fills. I just couldn't get the fills and do chemo at the same time. One trauma at a time!
It was recommended that I get the expanders placed when I had the mastectomies so they could do "skin sparing" mastectomies. When I woke up I had itty bitty titties. There was some pain. It kinda felt like I was wearing a bra made out of velcro. It's the only way I can explain it. But my chest is so numb all over it doesn't hurt at all when they put the fills in. I found that I needed to do alot of stretching exercises (still do) to keep the pain away.
The implants don't look very natural to me. They are REALLY perky like when I was in my 20's before having kids. I don't think that is very natural for a woman of 61 but at least they fill out a bathing suit and that was my primary concern since I love to swim.
I pray for you every day Kelly...boobs are okay but living is better!!!
Hugs,
Roseanne
