I had a modified radical mastectomy 2 weeks ago. the tumor was 8 cm long, with lymph nodes involved. Since then I have been so frustrated. I still have the drain, 17 days later, and it is still draining at 30-50cc a day, so nothing else can be done. In addition I go back to work full time next week. (I'm a teacher, so I anticipate hours of sitting on those cafeteria stools when I can't even get out of the sofa without effort.) Also, my family really wants me to go to MD Anderson (we're local), but after a week, they seemed to have forgotten to ask for my biopsy slides from the hospital I had surgery at, so we are still waiting. I'm ready to tell the family that instead of "the best" I'm willing to go with someone who will commit to an appointment, but we have long family ties working at Anderson. Anyway, I'm sorry this s so negative, but there doesn't seem to be anyone to share it with at home.
