I have just been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. I am waiting for my lymph node biopsy to come back. The surgeon said he saw one node that looked swollen during the surgery. He said it had to be "Looked at under the microscope to confirm his diagnosis of lymph node involvement." I have already had a masectomy because I had already decided I did not want just a lumpectomy. This was my personal choice. This is such a scary time. Right now I just keep hoping I will wake up from this nightmare! Does anyone have any advice for me? When I read information about breast cancer, it just makes me more afraid. My Mom and my aunt both died of breast cancer. Help!!!!
