New to this site. Also from Long Island. Just diagnosed and am about to schedule a mastectomy. Probably just in time for my birthday on August 24. Well, one year I spent my birthday giving birth to my second daughter. That was much better than what I have to look forward to now. Am very frightened regarding the surgery and very sad. So, so many women with this disease. It's incredible and horrible. I am afraid for my daughters, too.
