hello. my name is joshua prager. i'm a reporter at the wall street journal and writing a book about bobby thomson's famous home run, the 'shot heard round the world.' willard mullin christened the home run 'the little miracle of coogan's bluff.' can anyone tell me when did mullin first present that phrase? i see it in a cartoon on the very day of the home run, on 10/3/51, but it seems he drew this before the home run was hit which would indicate that maybe he had drawn it once or twice even earlier. (of course it later appeared too on the cover of the 1952 giants yearbook.)
thanks so much!
sincerely,
josh
