I would like to ask anyone who was a shipmate of George Hopf to feel free to contact me. It would give me much comfort just to talk to you. George talked fondly of his time in the service and if he would have known, he certainly would have been in attendance at your gatherings.
George died of cancer but it was very quick. From the time we knew he was "sick" to his death was only 6 weeks. It was very difficult for me and the family to lose him so quickly.
God Bless You all and a very special thanks to Norm for his work. Also John Mathison was so kind to call me and send me snapshots he had of George.
