I picked up a 71 Scamp for $1800 a few months back and I'm making slow progress due to this crazy Nor Cal rainy spring this year (I'm in the SF Bay Area). Well the specs are as follows.... stockish 318 with Edelbrock 4bbl carb and manifold, electronic distributor, dual flowmasters, 727 tranny, 8.25 in the rear (now). Not too exciting but a good place to start. I feel pretty lucky as the car had a rebuilt engine, tranny, newer vinyl top and nicely recovered seats. All work was done within the last couple of years. I picked up a roller doner car for a few hundred bucks (74 Dart) with lots of goodies including power disk brakes, 4.5" hubs and lot's of little things. Getting many parts used off ebay including a nice set of 4 Cragar SS rims with tires for $360 (locally) 15x7 fronts and 15x8 rears, hood scoops, front grill... EBay's a great resource for used and resto A-Body parts.
