im attempting to install a newer head unit into my 71 scamp, and cant seem to get the right power supply to the unit. i removed the old am radio and using the old connector attched my new radio to that. im assuming the T shaped connector carries the battery, ignition and maybe a ground as it has three wires leading into it. but it looked like one just ran to a lamp for the radio (?). if anyone knows anything about the old radio setups it would help. im hesistant to connect straight from the battry like so many do with new stereo units. i got an amp and two tens im trying add also. i love the old radio and the sound but i got carried away and already removed and cut the old connector off the back of the am unit.
