It was crystal clear that attacking Iraq was the ultimate international crime, an unjustified and illegal war of aggression based on trumpd up charges about non-existant weapons of mass destruction.
Increasingly, it was argued in the western media and politics, that 'international law' didn't really exist and didn't apply to powerful states like the US, who, had the power to make their own rules up as they went along. Improvising what was right or wrong based on their current interests and the power to inforce their will when they had to.
So much for the 'international community' and the 'rules based order'! One doesn't know whether to laugh or cry.
So much for the lauded 'responsibility to protect' civilians from harm, when it's happening in Gaza!
One wonders why nobody in Parliament or the Left don't employ these same arguments and language when talking about events in Gaza?
