Remember how when the left used to want to have influence over their MPs and have the power to recall or reject them, if they repeatedly reneged on promisses they'd made to their constituents? This was seen as something shocking and undermined the independence of MPs and parliamentary democracy; the people, the voters, having real influence and the ability to hold their MPs accountable between elections.
But Starmer can rule the Labour Parliamntary Party like a fascist dictator, crushing dissent, smashing the independence of MPs, and this is seen as strong, resonable and normal behaviour for a responsible leader who's showing he's got what it takes to lead the nation from Downing Street.
