Sure, the twerp is sending out signals to disillusioned Tory voters, but I'm afraid he's dumb enough to actully believe it.
Blair came to power with a whopping majority, and I remember the Labour Party attempting to explain why they wern't actually doing anything with it, comapred to Thatcher who was never afraid to use the power she had. But then it's obvious that no one from the Left would ever be allowed to implement policies from the left that mirrored the extremes of Thacherism. That fact, which everyone agrees with, is just one of the reasons we don't live in a truly funcyioning democracy, but one that is carefully managed.
Central to Thatherism, was the fact that a party which had a huge majority of those who voted, against her, still managed to push through massively unpopular policies which the voters, let alone the electorate, didn't vote for. I seem to Remember that at the height of her popularity, only about 43% voted Tory, but by Westminstar magic, she ends up with a whopping majority.
