Unfortunately, the reasons they are labeled 'revolts' is that they didn't succeed, they were only... revolts which didn't fundamentally change or overturn fundamental power relationships.
Alexi Sayle has mused about this too. The ruling class have been at this... ruling, for centuries in England. They are extremely 'good' at it, ruling over the majority.
Also, according to Sayle, the left's role is, not really about taking over in a complex society like the UK. It's about putting preasure on the Establishment, coming up with criticisms and alternative ideas that have enough popular support too force the ruling class to acknowledge them and make them their own. However, that model is crumbling, has crumblied over the last half century, because of a lack of reforms, lack of resources and economic decline.
