Can't remember when I started watching this guy. Def don't agree with a lot of his politics, eg: dumping on climate change protestors, endorsing Trump & all the god stuff, but thought it was interesting to see how he was able to criticise media narratives around the Gaza assault and maintain a humane anti-war perspective often lacking even from much left-ish commentary:
Some questionable depictions of protestors 'supporting' Hamas and being 'jew-haters', but a telling focus on rightwing attitudes to media hatemongering and thought-control over covid vs. the atrocity propaganda around Oct 7th leading to Israel's genocidal bombardment. Not sure how well received such critiques will be, but I thought it was interesting that there are fracture lines over unconditional fealty to Israel from the US right. I think he will be reaching the parts other beers cannot reach with this effort. Great to see him expand beyond fun but safe satire of ID politics. 'Safe' in the sense that 99 percent of his audience will be on board..
