Israel and Gaza: a quick end to a tragic but necessary war
... It is sanctimonious and outrageous to describe Israel's military action as senseless. Israel was forced to pursue this war to protect its citizens after an invasion by the explicitly genocidal regime at its border. The attackers committed an unspeakably barbaric massacre, which they have since promised to repeat again and again with the goal of annihilation of Israel.7 Military action to prevent atrocities and genocide is anything but senseless....
"Editorial note: The Lancet Group takes a neutral position with respect to territorial claims in published text and institutional affiliations."
They write that at the end of any and all articles n letters to do with Gaza.
There's nothing remotely "neutral" about the Lancet's position. Desmond Tutu speaks from beyond the grave - not to take sides is to side with the powerful!
