Due to financial reasons I don't see how Fee is going to fire Monson before his contract expires after the 2023 season.
Sorry JJ but I will disagree with you on a couple of your points.
Baseball is on the way up and we will be a national player moving forward
Softball is pretty consistent in contending for the BW title every year and Kim has been getting some very solid recruits and transfers.
WBB is a very good team this year and Jeff has them headed in the right direction to win the BW this year.
WVB has played much better since the coaching change and with the right hire we could be a National contender in the future (This one is all on Fee to pick the right coach)
Tennis puts out a great product every year and the coach does a great job with a very small budget.
Track and Field is another solid product that sends athletes to the NCAA's every year
Water Polo is 3 wins away from a Championship and I don't know much about the game they are a solid team every year.
My point is that we do have some very good teams and a few are on the upswing but MBB has become the pair of concrete shoes that is dragging our Athletic Dept down. CDM must be fired today and Fee should go with him as neither one has a clue what they are doing. The game has passed CDM by and he is like the aging QB or baseball player trying to hang on against guys 15 years younger. Fee should never have been hired in the first place and he is in way over his head and he has driven away Long time Donors, Alums, Fans and Students with his I don't give a s&&t attitude about our sports teams. Make a move"Clueless" Andy while you still have a small fan base that cares.
Speaking as a person who went to LBSU during the golden years for almost all sports from 1968-1971 I don't think I've ever seen the overall athletic program at this low a level. We have had poor basketball teams in the past but the rest of the department was usually achieving on a high level. Our basketball team is at almost rock bottom. Except for the first half vs. UCLA we have basically played awful basketball. Except for Mens Volleyball we really have no sport that will achieve on the national level like in the past. Water Polo is having a good year and Baseball may be Top 25 this year. We used to ranked in the Top 20 year in and year out in many sports. Sorry to say but with Mr. Fee as AD I think this trend will continue. We need to get an AD that thinks outside the box and Andy really just kind of rolls with the punches. It's very sad to see the deterioration of our once proud athletic program. I had Fred Miller as an AD when I attented, probably one of the most innovative, pro-active AD's anyone could have. Last night put a cap on a downward spiral that looks like it will continue for quite a long time. Very sad to see!
