I know some folks - and I was one of them - were reluctant to attend indoor events with a crowd in a public place. I skipped several LB games plus a few at my kids' high school that I ordinarily would have attended. I finally attended the games at UCI and vs. UCR to close out the regular season. Maybe I was being overly cautious but I don't really have the option of taking 1-2 weeks off work.
Yup, when I saw the comment about no one blaming CDM I kind of chuckled. I hate to bring this up but feel itís important, beyond playing time and commentary about a younger generation of turncoats, the lack of attendance (student, alumni or community) at our home games has to be a big downer for the players. Coming 3000 miles to not play and (for the last 2 years) basically sit in your room, sucks, even on scholarship. I canít sit here and say I wouldnít do the same thing as Rhoden (who I actually think could develop into a useful player in most circumstances). You can say just recruit harder locally, but the local players know the score. Iím not going to blame CDM on guys leaving, because itís happening everywhere, but the overall excitement (ON A CONSISTENT BASIS) around the program has to get raised, or weíll likely always struggle to hold onto players, even those who play a lot. IMO, Fee has to start getting things lined up for the next generation of LB basketball, even if a coaching change wonít happen immediately.
One poster did, but for the most part I think we can see every program will have a number of transfers every year. The quote:
"People are asking here why we have so many transfers. Come on people open your eyes. The obvious reason is that CDM can't coach...."
I just read all of the recent posts on our transfers and I don't see one person blaming this situation on CDM. It's much more complex than one person, our head coach. Consider the NCAA rules since 2018 have opened the door to transfers. This is beyond the power of anyone at our University to fix, from coach to adminstration.
My gosh people, all the guys who left didn't contribute at a high or even medium level. Hawkims is laughable since he didn't play 1 minute. The others will be replaced,Jody will likely comeback when he finds out he won't be drafted.
All schools, even power 5, can't stop kids from leaving. Kids have unrealistic expectations they no longer seem willing to pay their dues. No more wailing to wait 1 to 2 years to play behind some one and take the reigns when the guy graduates.its pathetic.
Parents all think their kids are NBA bound or are better than they are. I can question the talent evaluation of the kids, that's a different story. Seems like kids who played major roles are staying. Hopefully another 2 wings and as many bigs as we can find
