Ramirez, Harrison and Luttrell were all in D1 Baseball's pre-season top 200 for college players for the MLB draft, which is now in mid-July and tied into the All Star break.
Ramirez had health issues so he might have to throw a couple of times in a summer league to show he's healthy.
Harrison is a RP who had a poor season so who knows what will happen with him.
Luttrell had a very good season and hit is way up the draft board. He should get drafted in the 8th-12th round range and sign.
Carlson had a solid season, is in his 4th year on campus and has MLB blood lines (younger brother of the Cards DJ Carlson). Easy to see him getting drafted in the mid-high teens.
First, congrats to our team for not packing it in. Yes, not the overall result we/they probably wanted, or expected, but finishing over 500 seemed like an impossibility (regardless of schedule) several weeks ago. Sucks that it got to the point one of our guys throws a no hitter (highly unusual in a college game) and it goes largely unnoticed because of the season we had.
Second, looking forward, anyone know who the potential losses are to the MLB draft? I know we had a pretty young team, but also know many guys listed as So. graduated rom HS 3 years ago
so, unlike most years, they’d be draft eligible.
