Re: USC and UCLA joining the Big10
I think Washington and Oregon will look to move unless the PAC10 can add two top-level teams. SD State and Boise are not up to the level of SC and UCLA.The PAC 10 TV money will go down now that SC and UCLA are moving. It's all about the TV $$$.
I wouldnt call the leftovers a bunch of crap. Especially Stanford, Washington, Utah, and Arizona. But losing USC and UCLA is definitely a punch in the gut. Will be interesting to see what happens.
But they aren't SC and UCLA. The Pac whatever they will be called is hot garbage. Oregon and a bunch of crap leftover.
This creates a huge opportunity for SDSU and Boise State. Unless Cal and Stanford blackballs them they are probably in.
IMO SDSU especially would be a good fit. They are a research University, and athletically they would complete very well. Not to mention they have great support from Alumni and community.
It's a TV money-making incentive to move to the Big 10. When Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, and the other prominent programs come to the Rose Bowl or Coliseum, that's a big TV audience and a big in-stadium attendance. A problem is the big travel time to go to the mid-east. This may improve recruiting at USC and UCLA as it means games on national TV against very good teams. Will the realighned PAC 10 still be a top 5 conference in the NCAA? I don't see any powerhouse schools being added to the PAC 10.
.holy shit this stuff is getting crazy. Gotta think some of the other P12 Schools may bolt to the Big12. Could see Stanford and Cal following SC/UCLA
..though Cal is pretty broke.
