Re: Boy was I off
Agree Backer that negative feelings toward all the good that goes on with our coaches and players is not helpful. Be critical when necessary with coaches and administration but never on the students that are playing sports and going to school all at the same time.
My post was just to point out what while sales for the Angel game was good that not historic. Not negative as just pointing out facts that hold up from my qualified sources on the matter.
All the negativism just bugs me some time.
Like we won the Blue and Gold thing and the Commissioners Cup for being the most successful athletic department in the conference.
But no, that's no good because we lost in the National Championship game of the MVB tourney.
Nothing ever seems to be good enough for some people.
The numbers you state from Jeff is when the athletic department started selling as they have done so only for a few years. Alumni association ran the sales for longer. So the amount Jeff reports are a record for the "athletic department" but not a record historically. Sent out to find out how many the alumni association sold when they ran this promotion and the high was over 4,000 tickets sold.
I know this for a fact as I assisted in the many years when alumni ran the sales as was a volunteer like others at Angel Stadium.
But do not worry as a 49er that plenty to bitch about.....LBSU is a love/hate relationship for many of us.
But keep providing us the info we ask for as you are doing us a great service as our unofficial SID....
Wrong, the Angels game tickets have always been sold only through the ticket office.
Henceforth, who would know better the amount of tickets sold than Jeff Scott the ticket manager.
Fine something else to bitch about.
While close to 2,000 is a great amount of tickets sold that my memory recalls that when alumni association sold tickets for this event that sales were much higher. Would have to inquire further but still a good turnout Sat night.
Was told that Jeff Scott said that almost 2000 tickets were sold to Long Beach people to the Angel game.
And that is over 400 more than the previous high tickets sold.
