should be the best at becoming the next AD at lbst -- I -- if they are with the same mind set as the current president of the university hen i say keep on looking until the right candidate can be found --female or male makes no different as long as they are well qualified to fill the shoes as our next AD --- GO 49ERS
Need someone to activate big donors new and old to transform department.
Could not Care less if that’s someone with a penis or vagina.
As far as “woke,” every hire at any CSU has to submit an official statement on diversity. I’m not going into the politics of what that means, just information in case you didn’t know.
An Equity and Diversity Statement about your teaching or other experiences, successes, and challenges in working with a diverse student population (maximum two pages, single-spaced). For further information and guidelines, please visit: http://www.csulb.edu/equitydiversitystatement[/i
P5 “guy”? I’d put a decent size wager we’ll see someone with higher levels of estrogen with this hire….and I have zero problem
with that provided they’re capable of excelling in the position.
I also think there’s a pretty decent size pool of candidates who have started their careers at mid major programs but currently
work at a P5. Those P5 AD jobs are tough to come by, and prior
AD experience (even at a lower level) helps, so I’m hopeful you could find someone with background across different levels motivated to make a mark at Long Beach. That may mean the person is closer to a 5 year versus 10 year hire, but that’s the environment (and I don’t limit that just to athletic administration).
The problem with a P5 guy is they are unlikely to understand the complexities of competing with a fraction of the budget.
I would like to see someone coming from a P5 or high level G5 school. Someone that has seen the bigger picture and understands how to get there. Also someone that isn't using their position as a woke political platform.
I would like to see Rob Clark return.
Any thoughts on who might be a good candidate to replace Andy? I have heard various people mention Alan Knipe, Rob Clark, and Wayne Stickney. I have no idea about how Jane plans to go about finding a replacement. Appoint Alan seems like an easy and fast way to go, but...
