Re: Jane Got a WHOPPING 28% RAISE!
If she retires in 1-2 years, it was a classic case of pension spiking.
Come on my friend, I know that accuracy in math has been deemed a racist concept; but, before you accuse others of failing at math, check your own.
Old Salary $373,278
New salary $479,505
% increase = old salary / raise = 28.46%
Now, let's be honest. There is significant inflation right now. Since the raise is over the last couple years, we can add in the three year CPI increase of 14.9%. So her raise in spending power is 13.5%. This is not unreasonable if she is doing a good job. I am not so excited about the job she is doing. Keep in mind that throughout the University we are losing staff members in huge numbers because they are not getting raises and our compensation packages are well below market. Additionally, the faculty union negotiated a whopping 7% increase over the same period. Which leave teachers having lost purchasing power of roughly 8%. I am always fascinated that those who most aggressively rail about inequality (like Jane) are sure not shy about taking that large salary. And don't forget that when she retires, due to her many years in the California University system, she will continue to draw a pension nearly equal to her salary.
You guys seem to have failed at math.
jwb and others - you people are trumpist cult member fascists. When will any of you be required to be accurate? https://edsource.org/2022/cal-state-presidents-to-see-at-least-7-salary-increase/675482
You people are such a mess.
This is absolutely disgusting. And I don't see Jane retiring anytime soon at near a half million a year.
Apparently Elbee lobbied hard on her behalf. Others CSU Campus Presidents also did well.
Jane's salary increase was $28% per the CSU Board of Trustees July 22nd meeting. She was getting $373,278. With her disgusting salary bump, she is now at $479,505.
My teacher friends say Governor Gruesome cut their agreed upon raise from 4% to 3%, in a last minute back room deal between 3 people, including Governor Gruesome. I guess the State had to make up for all of those big raises to the fat cats at the top.
Does this seem right to you?
