Re: MBB season outlook
I am hopeful that the height of our new bigs will pay dividends. We now have depth at the 4 and 5 slots so our small forwards won't have to play the low or high post. I am looking forward to seeing how this team develops. We are strong at the 1-2-3 slots so adding the bigs should put us in the top 2 or 3 in the BW.
20-13 (12-3 BW) last year. As I look at the schedule for the 22/23 season, there is no reason we are not a 20+ win team. Reasonable to think:
8-4 out of conference
12-3 Big West
Will have to wait until next week. I did get to watch Tyler and WVB work out and to talk status of basketball with Sean and Alex.
Tyler has it going on. The enthusiasm was sky high. Complete contrast to what I had seen in Joy's time. I see why talent gravitates to Tyler. Our future is bright.
It sounds like Polynice and Traore are going to be special. Yes, like most of you I reserve judgement until I can watch them some. Hunter and Tsohonis are going to get a lot of PT. It's that time of year, optimism is blossoming.
My thought hasn't changed on a line up based on what I'm hearing and reading. I still say look for:
And, look for Polynice, Hunter, George, and Rotegaard to get significant minutes. Hopefully there some other of the newcomers that will help. Lots of depth for a change with our big kids. Rootegard will not have to defend the post this year. Yes....keep recruiting kids with last name Traore.
Going to be fun. Go Long Beach! I'll give you some more feedback next week. We are blessed to have Sean and Alex in our mix. Solid young men...go getters.
