Re: Parking Secret + Exercise
When I attend each year the Dirtbag games at CSUF that they allow for free parking in the lot across from the stadium.
It's too bad that one can't park in the very big lots across the drive from the Myd which after 6pm on weekdays and Saturdays are largely empty. It seems like the belief that a sports team should make it pleasurable and easy to attend games is gone today.
I park in the neighborhood to the north of the Pyramid. I used to live in that neighborhood and it is restricted parking for the first few blocks in general...if this interests you I'd suggest scouting it our during daytime and noting where there are no restrictions.
If you don't mind a brisk 10-15 minute walk and don't mind crossing Atherton (either with a mad dash without a crosswalk or light, or use the light at Fanwood) then you don't have to deal at all with the cost and hassle of on campus parking.
I tell you all this because you are all message board friends and after reading the thread about the new parking situation, f'em!
My favorite place to park is on McNab just north of Marita St. There are other options where there are no neighborhood parking restrictions.
I get that a lot of the posters here are older and that would be a hassle and maybe even dangerous. I got so used to walking from where I used to live on Marita St it seems normal to me and is refreshing and saves me beaucoup bucks.
