After the hard fought OT loss at home to Utah Valley, a quality team and that loss stung but wasn't like we played poorly.

Then we went to a tournament and this happened:
Missouri St. 92 Beach 66
Murray St 80 Beach 43
Beach 85 Wright St 76

Yes the two losses were to two very good mid majors but those are full on blowouts all tires blowing their treads at the same time. Its like it took the first two games for the team to even show up.

So will this happen again after this cupcake home game v St Katherine when we play:

(Current Pomeroy Ratings) LBSU is 155
Game 1: Oakland (254)
Game 2: N Texas (77) or SJose St (215)
Game 3: Missouri St (141) or UNCW (212) or Vermont (116) or Ball St (231)

Crazy that we have the 4th best ranking in the entire tournament. These ratings are pretty meaningless this early but whatever, its something to use for comparisons.

Wild hopeful guess: We have a decent game and get by Oakland, give N Texas a game then lose by under 10, then solidly win the 3rd game. Its wild because that means we have to be prepared for game one. More likely: Oakland buries us by 25, lose a squeaker to SJSU, then win the final game by 4. Rinse, repeat, Monson.

Last year, we then got mauled by SDSU which wasn't a surprise, then the season started to turn around and we regained nightly competitiveness...then the wins started piling up.

As usual, the excuses will pile up about having to integrate new guys and all, and sure no one else in college bball has to integrate new guys we are always the only ones. Then a key player will get injured and that is the excuse, but no one else deals with that situation only us. Then...
