A key piece is how we shoot. Granted, NT probably played better defense than Vermont, but, if we hit threes against anyone we will likely win. If we can't hit from outside, we can still beat teams, but not likely teams than can shut down our inside game.

I do think it is worth remembering that this team returns only 4 players who played last year (Murray, Aboubacar, Jones and Rotegaard). Most of the incoming players have limited or no D1 experience. For a team that is learning to play together, I am pretty happy with the early results. Because this team will depend on playing team defense, and because team defense requires acting as a unit, I expect it to take some time to jell.
