Why is it OK for the San Francisco 49ers continue to be called that name?
P.S. The SF 49ers have stuck gold in an unknown mine now being referred to as "The Purdy Mine." It's a historic find and has folks scrambling like in 1849.

In defense of those who have a niche in which they are TOP OF CLASS, it's often difficult to always "be that person" at the top of your profession in another sport. Previous Message
I'll be nice and say I respect him greatly as a football official. Some folks work multiple sports (announcers, refs, etc.) but not all succeed in each sport. Previous Message

He is Bill Vinovich. He was the lead ref at our MBB game vs Fooolerton.
