Also what has worked in the past has been having competitions between student groups, dorms, Greeks, etc.
Obviously winning helps.
Not just the fight song but the alma mater has been changed as many I have spoke with on campus do not like at all.
Not even sure what our new fight song is called. Athletic dept is using a consulting service that has been suggesting changes such as the naming of the student section (sand pit) so maybe they suggested a new fight song. Sand pit by the way a terrible naming as in the past we had the "Beach Patrol" which uses the term beach much better.
Athletics could have saved money from using the consulting service and just have asked me.
Besides, the consulting service has not done well on getting the students to come to games on weekends as lets see how it goes this month.
Which brings up the question. Why did the administration change the fight song? The old one IMO is much better then their new one.
My brother performed in an event in Scotland as a member of the BBMM in 1980.
Yes, we have that album as my wife was a member of the LB band in 68 to 70. The good old days!
The Big Brown Marching Band was WONDERFUL. If I remember correctly, they even had their own record album!!!!
It sure was fun times when we played football especially back in the 70s and 80s and we had the best Marching Band who always put on a great halftime show.
Probably has the most highly rated QB in their history transferred in, a former 5 star who followed his high school coach there. See if it elevates them.
Hasn't done much at D1 level, but I find news about our Big West brethren and their football programs interesting. Also have a few bounce back transfers.
Was fun watching Sac State run the table until a close crazy loss in the playoffs.
