I am a longtime lurker here and honestly I am very disappointed with the Beach.

The most disappointing thing about LB right now is the STUPID branding issue. How in the world can the university discard the 49er moniker and simply be Long Beach State Beach…. are you kidding me? And a stupid shark? Elbee? I mean Stanford has the worst, most inane mascot with the stupid tree, but it something and Stanford can afford to be stupid. Elbee the shark is highly offensive to anyone with a brain.

San Diego State has become a powerhouse program with branding because the leadership said Aztecs would say. How can you market the university with no consistent brand?

How can you raise money when it seems like the leadership has no direction? This has been going on for years. Do something but please this is the lamest and most ridiculous thing I have ever seen…

Also as to MBB, how in the world can Monson only have 1, ONE, NCAA appearance in like 15 years. That is simply unacceptable. With the facilities and all the history and everything and this is it?

Yes, clean program, seemingly a nice crop of good young mean, who graduate and all that but … can't do squat as a program.

I thought the last loss was bad and realized it was to Poly with 8 wins and this team lost by 20 something points. How in the world does a team do this and repeatedly? Awful.

If a rising tide lifts all boats, then the leadership has simply put massive holes in the boats and been swept over by the tide. If the university needs funding (who doesn't?) then how in the world can the university be so inept?.

Oh yeah as to the Pyramid, I was never a huge fan but it was better than the Gold Mine. You all have forgotten without Seth being a salesman and a miracle to get built for 25 million, LB would still be using the Gold Mine. Unfortunately time has caught up with the roofing. No, the roof cannot simply be removed and replaced. Structurally the foundation won't support it. It will cost more to do this then building a new facility. In fact I seem to recall when it was built that the fear was the facility had a strict lifespan due to the unique design, so this leaking issue is a known quantity.

Sure, we should have a fundraising campaign for the mid. But this relates to the first part of my post. We have crap leadership. Absolute garbage branding and a sense of not creating a community. Lastest example is putting the graduation at Anaheim Stadium. I still recall my graduate on the campus and having my name read out, the the garbage leadership offers this idiotic idea?

I am tired of reading of the supporters who say the leadership (the fish toting from the head) get's it. No.. look at San Diego State and how well it is all coming together. Compare this to LB with a flagship campus that has run around… on the Beach Beach….

Give students and alumni a DAMN reason to be part of the community.

Whatever the crap that is being offered no doesn't work.

1 NCAA tourney appearance and none since 2012 is absolutely a scandal. Unacceptable

The branding thing for the university is absolute garbage, and SCREW the woke mob and their Cultural Revolution tactics. Say no and be brave instead of this crap and expect things to be better.

If this institution can't deliver these things, then why should I provide money and support to the institution, rather than finding another place tat aligns with my values and a belief that there is something happening that is positive?

Another March Madness and "wait until next year for the Beach Beach" that is more like another two decades in the Big West! The Big West. LB can't qualify once in a decade from the Big West without all the great positives.

Frustrating as hell!
