Bottom line for me, I think Monson is most likely to retire following next season at the end of his contract. In general, while he has not been as awful as some here seem to think, he has been mediocre for something like the last 10 seasons, and 1 NCAA appearance in 16 years given the advantages he has had is completely inadequate.

The only reason to extend him beyond next season would be if he has a fantastic season next year, and the players want him to come back for one more season (the core for team will be seniors that additional year.). I do not have any knowledge that the players want him to return, but there is a strong core here that seems to be loyal to CDM.
