Jr and everyone else. We do need to change something> It would be grat if someone could donate a few million dollars to get all programs better support . Top on the list is MBB . I do agree we need change. I just hope we hire the best AD we have ever had. His work will not be easy. I would love to have the best basketball coach in the world. Previous Message
David if LBS retains Monson for more than next season attendance will continue to decline, ticket sales will continue to drop, alumni contributions will continue to drop, and finally LBS will continue to lose.
There is no advantage to retaining Monson. He cannot build a program. We can hire a young Assistant from a winning program for less than we are paying Monson. We have nothing to lose and a lot we could possibly gain.
All Assistant Coaches want to be a head coach. I’m sure we will
Get a lot of interest and applications. Previous Message
David, David, David
Repeating the same thing that fails over and over again is the definition of insanity.
Monson continuing to coach here fits that definition. Previous Message
stop it David. Previous Message
Did Andy leave for better opportunities or was his system not working? How much did the school not help him? Will that continue with the new AD? Keeping Monson is still the cheapest way to go. Previous Message
lets make the fee an even 100 dollars and move on --- stay woke and go broke Previous Message
I'd be shocked at that actually. Not because I wish he were gone 7 years ago, but I would be shocked at such a bold move by an interim AD.
I'd venture a guess that they are examining ways to get the athletics budget away from regular university funds subsidizing it. That's why I think Conoley will pass the new fee.
And why I also think part of this solution is dropping some sports altogether. I won't venture any guesses what, they would only be guesses.
I'm probably wrong, again. Looking forward to the news. Or maybe not! Previous Message
Is Monson getting an extension? Previous Message
The delay in searching and selecting a new AD is going to bite us in the ass.
I've heard some not too popular news is coming down the pike.
Also:
The narrative from Brotman Hall is that there will be no increases and athletics will have to do more with less and if they can win thats great but Brotman wont be working to build on baseline budget increases any time soon. They have slashed budgets to the point it is hurting.
And even if the student fee is likely, all it does is replace the lost revenue from COVID. This will make fund raising more important and that arm is understaffed.
