Growing up in Palo Alto and being a closet Stanford fan in any contest not involving Long Beach, I can say with confidence Madson getting the Cal job is a huge turd in the punch bowl for their fans / alumni. Relatively speaking, their hoops coach, Jarrod Haase, has been worse than Monson, and it’s not like they can’t afford to fire whoever they need to. Firing Hasse and bringing back Madsen was almost a forgone conclusion up there for a lot of their fans. A little schism between their athletic supporting alumni and their current school president…..imagine that.
