First subject is some interesting thoughts on our money woes at LBSU and comparing us to SDSU as a similar state school on the surface, but, not having a thriving football program helping feed a thriving basketball program is the huge difference. Worth a 10 minute listen or read summary below.

Brings up the bodybag games as a source of funds that we no longer do...fine a few a year if the majority of the $$ goes to the program and only to the coach if they win one of these games. Something like 90% to the program and 10% to head coach, but if we win, 50/50 split.

They talk about the fee and if it wasn't passed that there was mention of losing some sports. Talks about how Fullerton was close to going DII a few years back but seems to have waded through that mess. Talks about pissing off donors by shelving the 49ers name and mascot mess. They rightly point out how SDSU has thrived and not pissed off the donor base while we are floundering.

The momentum around SDSU if you invest in the athletics is clearly important. But LBSU seems to do stuff in the cheapest manner possible to keep the cost of education as inexpensive as possible.

Talks about getting a good new AD will be hard with all the challenges. Debt, Pyramid leaks, donor base pissed off, etc. Student fee passing was huge could have been a bigger amount but its a step in the right direction.

Wish they had talked about the current state of both bball programs and how the new AD will likely be selecting new coaches for each program, but being in their position they probably won't speculate about Monson, yet.

Mentions how St Francis U just recently whacked their entire athletic program.
