you might be right since the hill has done its best to destroy our donor base and future alumni donors -- cal baptist a smaller college but a great donor base which we wished we had ------ Previous Message
A pyramid design was not a good decision as this type of arena has many maintenance issues as did the pyramid in Memphis. The Bren at UCI (1987) is older and I haven't heard any problems with it. The Myd is iconic but the cost of continued repairs will likely lead to its demise. In 2017 CBU built a great arena in Riverside but at a cost of 73 million in 2017 dollars. It was officially renamed the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center in February 2023 after the Fowlers declared a massive gift to California Baptist University of $28.5 million.
Not sure if LB has that kind of money or that kind of donor to build a 5K seat arena. Previous Message
saw this on the yellow board, from Daily 49er

This may be a strategic 'leak' of information preparing us for what is probably going to happen. My guess is minor repairs for 4-5 years to keep it usable, new arena project launched, who knows where it will be located, where the funds will come from.
Build out the Gold Mine I think they could expand it westward 50-100 feet and do some redesign. Link it to educational facilities capital project so maybe partially offset cost with bond funds. Just throwing ideas out, I doubt any of it is feasible.
They will figure out something. GO BEACH!!!
